Rotary International is a global network of 1.2 million neighbors, friends, leaders and problem solvers who take action to transform communities. Locally, McMinnville Sunrise Rotary is committed to supporting the youth, education and the environment. Our most visible work includes trail maintenance at Airport Park and the upkeep of the wetlands at Joe Dancer Park.
In addition to our volunteer hours, we support other organizations and individuals in our community. In 2019, the Sunrise Rotary Foundation awarded $7,000 in @Chemeketacommunityed Chemeketa Community College Scholarships and $4,300 to various groups through our small grants program. Grants of $250 – $1,200 were awarded to local non-profits like St Barnabas Soup Kitchen, Rethinking Job Search, Habitat for Humanity, @julietteshouse, and @the_shadow_project which supports K-8 students who have learning differences.
Our club is committed to maintaining the same level of support to our community. We recognize that local needs are growing during this pandemic and we need your help to continue to grow our small grants program and our partnership with Chemeketa Community College. We anticipate that many organizations that plan to apply for a small grant will experience an increase in services this year.
This year we are reaching out to ask for your gift in lieu of an raising funds through an event. We hope you will consider giving to the McMinnville Sunrise Rotary club to assist us in achieving our $10,000 fundraising goal to fund the programs and services making an impact in our McMinnville community.
